About the Founder

Born and raised in Alabama, I wanted to be a doctor from a young age. I grew up around the medical center at UAB in Birmingham, where my mom was a virologist and cancer researcher. I was fortunate enough to launch my career by attending my hometown medical school. The lessons I learned there, about a scientific approach to medicine paired with empathy and humanity delivering care, have remained with me ever since as I landed on the Space Coast to settle down and raise my family.

After a number of unique experiences both at work and at home, I set out to, I thought, “fix” health care. I’ve had opportunities over the years to work around the country and world in executive and leadership roles at impactful, innovative companies like McKesson, Oracle, Steward Health Care, and United Health Group. I also learned over time that the system isn’t easy to fix – it needs to be completely redesigned, but within a framework that can be effective (and cost-effective). So with Rocket Health Care, I set out to apply what I’ve learned over the years and create something hopefully different and better, to provide human care and a great patient experience with high quality and low cost, aligned with the principles these days often called value based care.

A few key tenets guide the creation of Rocket Health Care:

1. Good healthcare doesn’t have to be expensive.
2. Each person’s story is important, and that story is always adding new chapters.
3. Your health reflects your life, and life is always changing.
4. Prevention is critical, because chronic health conditions are hard to manage once they start.
5. It’s important to have a plan for your health, and a trusted advisor to help you create it, update it, and achieve it.

I hope every patient who chooses to see us knows that we’re here when you need us, when you don’t, and when you’re not quite sure.
